The Danish Society for Customs and Tax History was founded on 24 October 1977 for the purpose of attracting interest in the history of the Danish Customs and Excise Department, and of the Danish Inland Revenue.
"Zise" - The journal of the Society for Customs and Tax History
The Society for Customs and Tax History has published its journal "Zise" since 1978. It is published three times a year, and each edition has about 40 pages with a variety of illustrated articles.
The articles in the first 25 years volumes cover aspects of the history of the Danish Customs and Excise from the Middle Ages and up to the present day. There are articles on local features, on national customs administration, together with reminiscences from employees in the service. From 1991 onwards, the history of the Inland Revenue is included on the same basis.
An index of the first 20 volumes of "Zise" can be consulted under "Zise register".
